Actual Proof is a quartet made up of: Eric Mullis (vibraphone), Phillip W. Berkley III (bass), Scott Drower (drums), and Clint Presley (guitar). Actual Proof is an original instrumental group whose music emphasizes rich grooves and rhythmic explorations. The music ranges from the rhythmically complex to the straight-ahead groove. Following Actual Proof is the Rickey Godfrey Band. The Rickey Godfrey Band , which is known for it's gritty soul sound, features Nashville-based Rickey Godfrey on lead vocals, guitar and on occasion, keyboard. Godfrey is considered to one of Nashville's premiere blues guitarists. After performing at the Lowcountry Blues Bash in Charleston, SC in February 2008, festival organizer Gary Erwin said, "Revelation - Rickey Godfrey is the best blues guitarist you've never heard of!" In a 2007 interview, recording artist Don Wise, who has also played saxophone with Delbert McClinton for some 22 years said, "Rickey Godfrey is the real deal. He's a wild man on guitar ... and I was stunned the first time I heard him play piano. He does it all ... an amazing musician." Band website: http://www.myspace.com/therickeygodfreyband

Saturday, March 28 - Dirty Martini followed by The Backstabbers (both Upstate, SC)

Dirty Martini is a vocal trio that has made a name for themselves at the Brown Street Club by playing jazz favorites from the early years. They have a way of turning our club into a listening room similar to those of the great American jazz age. Come early, grab a table and a bite to eat, sit back and just let your mind wander! Show starts at 6:30pm, http://dirtymartinijazz.com/

Debuting in 2007, The Backstabbers have over 50 years of combined playing experience. Based out of Spartanburg, Greenville, and Simpsonville, the band has become a recognized live band in the upstate. Showman personality, irrepressible enthusiasm and raw talent help make the band a visual as well as an audible experience. After many years on the road, keyboardist/vocalist Michael Blythe brings a jazzy pop-rock feel, while guitarist Gary Richie bring an old school jazz/rock attitude to the sound. Years of holding down the bass in various church groups gives Chris Alexander plenty of room to get funky. Keeping the rhythmic pace, Tez Sherard is a young powerhouse behind the drums. Show starts at 10:00pm.
